It is MYHA's policy that when two goalies are assigned to a House team:

1) Each goalie will spend equal time playing in goal. It will be in the team 's head coach's discretion to determine how that equal time in goal will be implemented (subject to the approval of MYHA's coaching directors and appropriate House Commissioners). A variety of equal time arrangements are acceptable, including:

a) alternating full games.

b) playing both goalies in each game - with Goalie A playing one period and Goalie B playing two periods in one game, and then Goalie A playing two periods and Goalie B playing one period in the next game.

c) playing both goalies in each game -- with each goalie playing 50 percent of the game.

It is expected that the head coach and two goalies will discuss the equal division of playing time to reach an arrangement that is acceptable to all parties. In the event that agreement cannot be reached, the head coach has the authority to impose the equal playing time arrangement he/she feels is most appropriate. That arrangement must be okayed by the MYHA coaching directors, House Commissioner and Commissioner for that team's division.

2) House goalies who wish to skate out may do so with his/her coach's approval, after demonstrating skating skills appropriate for the division. A goalie’s time skating out will not be counted against his time in goal.
